The President of the Republic of Cyprus goes to Paris for the Informal Meeting of the European Council The Ukrainian issue on the agenda of the Informal Meeting
President of the Republic Nicos Anastasiades will travel to Paris tomorrow to participate in the work of the Informal Meeting of the European Council which will take place in Versailles on 10 and 11 March.
The first day of the Plenary Session will discuss the issues of EU Strategic Autonomy in the areas of Defence, as well as Energy, in the new security environment, given the ongoing war in Ukraine.
This will be followed by a European Council Dinner to discuss the general situation in Ukraine.
The second day of work will address the issues of EU competitiveness/strategic autonomy, as well as Investment and the new recovery model, with a focus on green and digital recovery.
In addition, in the margins of the Summit, on the afternoon of 11 March, leaders will participate in a ceremony on the occasion of the European Day for the Victims of Terrorism.
The President of the Republic will be accompanied in Paris by the Government Spokesman, Mr Marios Pelicanos, the Deputy Minister to the President, Mr Kyriakos Kousios, and officials.
