The President departs for Brest where on Friday he will participate in the "One Ocean" Summit The topic of the President's speech will be "Tackling Climate Change with a focus on Green Shipping
The President of the Hellenic Republic is travelling to Brest, France, Nicos Anastasiades, where tomorrow he will participate, at the invitation of the President of France, Emmanuel Macron, in the One Ocean Summit, organised by the French Presidency of the EU, with the participation of heads of EU Member States and third countries.
A Presidency statement said that President Anastasiades will participate in the Summit's proceedings starting on Friday morning, 11 February, and will be a speaker at a round table discussion on "One Ocean of Solutions for Climate Change".
The theme of the President's speech will be "Tackling Climate Change with a Focus on Green Shipping."
President Macron and a group of EU Member State leaders, as well as leaders of other states and international organisations will also take part in the debate.
The President of the Republic will be accompanied in Brest by the Government Spokesman Marios Pelicanos, the Deputy Minister to the President, Kyriakos Kousios, the Deputy Minister for Maritime Affairs, Vassilis Dimitriades, the Ambassador of the Republic in Paris, George Siakallis, and officials.
President Anastasiades will return to Cyprus on the evening of February 11.
