The President of the Republic will visit Athens next week, Nicos Anastasiades, to take part in the European People's Party Leaders' Meeting, which will take place on the weekend of 2 and 3 December.

In the margins of the meeting,[/B] President Anastasiades will have the opportunity to meet with foreign leaders, whom he will brief on the latest developments in the Cyprus problem. He will stress the positions of the Greek Cypriot side for a just, workable and viable solution to the Cyprus problem. The aim remains the opening of a meaningful dialogue leading to a solution to the Cyprus problem, provided that Turkey shows good will by abandoning its position on the alleged existence of two states in Cyprus.

On Monday 28 November, at 10:40 in the morning, the President of the Republic will receive the annual report of the Commissioner for Electronic Communications.[AT 18:30 IN THE AFTERNOON AT THE PRESIDENTIAL PALACE, ON THE OCCASION OF THE INTERNATIONAL VOLUNTEER DAY, HE WILL WELCOME THE EVENT WHICH COINCIDES WITH THE 50TH ANNIVERSARY OF THE ESTABLISHMENT OF THE PANCYPRIAN COORDINATING COUNCIL FOR VOLUNTEERISM.

On Tuesday 29 November, at 12 noon, he will address the 40th Annual General Assembly of the Union of Municipalities in Lefkara. In his speech, President Anastasiades is expected to refer to the implementation of the Local Government Reform, which will be fully implemented in May 2024. The reform of the Local Government which the Government has promoted ensures the autonomy of the municipalities and their economic viability by offering quality services for all citizens. In the afternoon of the same day, at 19:00, at the 1st ceremonial meeting of the Cyprus Academy of Sciences, Letters and Arts, President Anastasiades will address and award the Distinguished Professor of Law Simeon Simeonides with the Order of the Republic of Cyprus for 2022.

On Thursday 1 December, at 19:00, President Anastasiades will attend a conference of the Commissioner for Administration and Human Rights The conference is co-organised with the Association of Mediterranean Ombudsmen on the occasion of the 30th anniversary of the establishment of the Office of the Commissioner for Administration. President Anastasiades will then attend in Limassol the Business Leader Awards ceremony organised by the KEBE.

On Friday 2 December, at 09:00 in the morning, President Anastasiades will address the 1st annual event for the Cyprus Recovery and Resilience Plan which is part of the National Plan "Cyprus - Tomorrow". The event will take place at the Nicosia Municipal Theatre in the presence of the EU Commissioner for Health and Food Safety, Ms Stella Kyriakidou. President Anastasiades will then depart for Athens for the proceedings of the European People's Party Leaders' Meeting. After the conclusion of the proceedings, on Saturday evening, 3 December, the President of the Republic will attend the annual dinner of DISY Greece. President Anastasiades will present awards to Cypriots who have distinguished themselves abroad.
