The President of the Republic Mr. Nicos Anastasiades arrived tonight in Riyadh, Saudi Arabia, for an official visit, accompanied by the Ministers of Foreign Affairs Mr. Ioannis Kasoulides and Energy Ms. Natasha Pilidou, the Deputy Minister to the President Mr. Kyriakos Koussis and the Deputy Government Spokesperson Ms. Niobe Parisinou.
At Riyadh airport, the President of the Republic was received by the Governor of the capital of Saudi Arabia, Prince Faisal bin Bandar bin Abdulaziz al Saud, while a military contingent paid tribute.
Tomorrow, the President will be officially received at the Palace by the Crown Prince of Saudi Arabia, Prince Mohammed bin Salman bin Abdulaziz al Saud, with whom he will hold talks.
The two sides will discuss, among other issues, developments in the Cyprus problem and the situation in the Eastern Mediterranean, the situation in Ukraine, bilateral relations between Cyprus and Saudi Arabia, issues related to the energy sector and EU-Saudi relations.
The Crown Prince will then host a luncheon in honour of the President of the Republic.
In the margins of President Anastasiades' visit to Riyadh, the Foreign Minister and the Minister of Energy, Trade and Industry are expected to hold meetings with their Saudi counterparts tomorrow.
