Countless calls from patients with covid to personal doctors Asking everything... even irrelevant things once they are diagnosed positive, says President of the Society of Personal Physicians - In some cases they lie, Confusion about quarantine days
The phones of personal doctors have been on fire in recent days after the rapid increase in cases in the community, according to the President of the Society of Personal Doctors, Andreas Polyniki.
Speaking to the Cyprus[/B] Times, Dr Polynikes says that due to the increased cases every day, personal doctors are racing and acting as answering machines in order to solve the queries of patients who, once diagnosed positive, ask all sorts of questions.
"Patients call 10 and 15 times a day to ask the obvious or unnecessary things to the personal physicians, burdening them even more. There are those who ask irrelevant things or lie in order to get released earlier," he said."
At the same time, he appeals to patients to ask relevant things and not to panic.
Confusion over covid
Confusion prevails at the same time, among citizens who are identified positive about quarantine days, as some doctors recommend 10 days of self-limitation and others 7, according to citizen reports in the Cyprus Times.
When asked, Dr. Polynices why there are personal physicians who recommend 10 days of quarantine in cases and another 7 with a negative test, he said there is confusion in the Ministry's announcements and it is something that should be clarified.
However, speaking to the Cyprus
Times, Health Minister's Advisor Konstantinos Athanasiou clarified that positive cases are required to do a 10-day quarantine.
What may have confused some is that they reduced the quarantine days ONLY for health professionals to 7.
