"We left our child and you tell us to come again from Didymoteicho, Beasts"
With tensions running high, the second degree trial for the rape and murder of Eleni Topaloudi in November 2018 in Rhodes began today and was adjourned until March 10.
The family of the slain girl erupted after the announcement from the bench that the trial is adjourned until March 10, in order for the new lawyer of the 22-year-old defendant of Albanian origin to take note of the case file.
In fact, only the 24-year-old accused from Rhodes was present in court today.

In contrast, his co-defendant did not go to the courtroom and was represented by his new lawyer. In particular, the lawyer of the Albanian-born defendant asked to study the case file because he recently took over the case. The court, as provided for in such cases, decided to adjourn the trial.
On hearing the decision, the mother and father of Eleni Topaloudi, who had come from Didymoteicho to attend the trial, erupted. "We left our child and you tell us to come again from Didymoteicho, you beasts! Fuck you! Carcine! You inhuman pigs! God help you. I'll burn you all" shouted the mother of the murdered student Koula Topaloudi, calling it a mockery on the part of the defendants.[/B]
The family of Eleni Topaloudi was joined by Anna Psarakou, mother of Garifallia, who was murdered in Folegandros this summer, and Eleni Kremastioti, mother of Erato, who was murdered in 2019 in Mytilene by her estranged husband.
