An agreement on the basis of the sovereign equality of two equal states is supported in its programme by the new "government" of the CEC-DC-CA, adopting the stance of TC leader Ersin Tatar

As reported in the occupied territories, the 28-page programme of trilateral cooperation was submitted today before the "parliament" for approval next week.

In the programme, the reference to the Cyprus problem is made in the section concerning the "foreign ministry". There it is firstly noted that the basis of federation has been abolished and it is added that the aim of the "government" is to act in the light of the existing realities on the island for the benefit and in favour of the rights of the TC "people".

The main objective in foreign policy is the protection and promotion of the legitimate rights and interests of the T/C "people", not only in the context of the Cyprus problem, but also in all other areas, it said.

It is argued that efforts, under the auspices of the UN, for 50 years to find a solution on the basis of the IHL have failed due to the rejectionist attitude of the G/C side. "In 2017, after the collapse of the Conference on Cyprus held in Crans Montana, Switzerland, the basis of the federation was abolished," it adds.

After Crans Montana, it adds, the TC side had announced that the time had come to evaluate other options. In this context, the "tdvk" as the pseudo-state is referred to - at the informal 5+ UN meeting in Geneva on 27-29 April 2021, announced the new "state policy" and put it in writing.

"The new state policy of the tdvk for Cyprus, which was formulated in the light of the existing reality on the island, envisages the establishment of sovereignty and equal international status, which is an inherent and indisputable right of our state."

The "government", it continues, will make efforts in consultation with the "presidency" and the motherland Turkey to accept the sovereign equality and equal international status of the pseudo-state.

Our equal rights and interests in natural gas and the Eastern Mediterranean region will continue to be protected with the full support of the Republic of Turkey, it says. We will not, it continues, allow the "Greek Cypriot administration" as the Government of the Republic of Cyprus is referred to - to usurp our rights and in every step taken by the Greek Cypriot side, "together with the Republic of Turkey, our determination to respond simultaneously and equally will be maintained." Our proposals and calls for cooperation on natural gas, aiming at stability in the Eastern Mediterranean, will continue, it adds.

They will continue, it also says, initiatives towards international and regional forums so that the international community can properly understand the just demands of the TCs and their aspirations.

Increasing contacts with the Organization of Islamic Cooperation and the Organization of Economic Cooperation, where they have observer status, and their member countries will be among the priorities of the "government". They will take the initiative to host events of these organizations in the occupied territories and will step up efforts to accelerate their active participation in them.

Tangible steps will be taken, it adds, to end the "isolation" described as "the most basic problem of the TCs."

The steps taken in Varosha, part of the territory of the pseudo-state - it says - and within the framework of international law will be continued. The necessary decisions to open Varosha will continue to be taken by the "presidency" and the motherland Turkey, it adds. "We will increase our efforts to ensure that the closed Varosha is tdvk territory and that international public opinion understands that the steps taken are in accordance with international law," it adds."
