Russian oligarch Andrei Igorevich Melnychenko's sailing yacht seized in Trieste
The Italian financial police have seized Russian oligarch Andrei Igorevich Melnychenko's superyacht Sailing Yacht A in the port of Trieste.
It is the largest sailing yacht in the world, worth 530 million euros, 143 metres long and 25 metres wide. The seizure is part of the measures against Russian billionaires approved by the European Union.
Melnychenko is described by the Italian press as the king of coal and fertilisers, as he owns the EuroChem Group of fertilisers and the coal company SUEK. Sailing Yacht A is designed by Philip Stark and built by Nobiskrug in Germany.
