The first direct flight from Istanbul to Larnaca was carried out, according to Yeni Dusen, under the name "humanitarian flight" as it involved the Turkish Men's National Handball Team player who was spotted on his arrival in Cyprus, positive for COVID-19.
According to the Yeni Dusen website, the special direct flight took place today and involves an aircraft-ambulance.
A special permission was given, it is stated, since no direct flights are made from Turkey to the "southern part of Cyprus" as the free areas of the Republic are called, and it is noted that the authorities of the pseudo-state were notified.
