The 64-year-old man who pretended to be a doctor and even administered drugs to unsuspecting patients is brought before the Nicosia District Court, without however holding a licence to practise the profession.
The 64-year-old man, who was handcuffed yesterday, was allegedly, according to the Cyprus Times, giving patients various pharmaceutical preparations of unknown origin and which are not licensed in the Republic of Cyprus.
Large quantities of drugs
were taken from the authorities' investigations[/B] both from his home and from the "doctor's office" he maintained and sent for tests. The authorities are even looking into the origin of the drugs, which he may have obtained from the occupied territories.
The fake doctor, according to Cyprus Times, presented some pharmacist's documents to the police when questioned. The documents he produced are expected to be investigated to determine whether they are genuine and have not been tampered with or forged.
Same information indicates that the charlatan doctor had mainly foreign citizens in his clientele, while it remains unknown whether the health of his unsuspecting patients was affected by the preparations he administered.
