The court annulled the decree on the EPP's register The President of the Movement, Marinos Sizopoulos, was vindicated. party
A victory for the EDEK is today's decision of the Nicosia District Court which rejected and annulled the application for the temporary decree, dated 1/11/21, against the Movement, which put a brake on the holding of the Ordinary and Statutory Congress and on the implementation of the decisions taken on 24 October by the Extraordinary Congress of the EDEK.
The disputed decree had been filed as evidence of the disputed register of members of the movement, with the plaintiffs claiming that it had been falsified by the leadership of the EDEK, which was rejected by the court in today's judgment, accepting on the merits the correctness of the register on the basis of which the elections were held yesterday.
It is recalled that the lawyers of Michalis Terepeis, Theophanis Andreou and Stephanie Andreou, had appealed to the Nicosia District Court, which in turn issued a decree stating that: "orders and prohibits the EDEK and/or their representatives and/or their officials and/or their officers and/or their collective bodies and/or any of their bodies and/or organs and/or their employees and/or their servants from executing and/or in any way implementing the disputed decisions of the Extraordinary Congress of the J.C. EDEK dated. 24/10/2021"
Among other things, the decisions of the Extraordinary Congress suspended Michael Terepeis' status as Secretary of the Central Committee and member of the Credentials Committee and invited him to submit his resignation within the next 10 days or else the Central Committee of the C.E.C. would be invited to resign within the next 10 days. The development comes as a vindication for the movement's President Marinos Sizopoulos.
