Next week[/B] the MERCpill against covid is expected to arrive in Cyprus, a fact that particularly pleases the scientific community, according to the Deputy Director of Pharmaceutical Services Dr. Elena Panagiotopoulou, since this reduces serious disease and death.
"The pill will be prescribed by personal physicians but there will be a strict protocol as there are serious contraindications and it will be given to specific population groups such as, vulnerable groups and people over 65 years old, it will not be for all patients," she clarified.
According to Dr. Panagiotopoulou the pill will be given only by hospital pharmacies and there will be strict control for adherence to protocols.

"There should also be contraception, as a woman should not even get pregnant. All these he said will be included in the protocols, as in other countries," he noted.
Next month in Cyprus the Pfizer pill is expected, he said, for which there will also be protocols.
