The contribution of the Technical Committee for Cultural Heritage to the efforts to rescue, preserve and promote the monuments of Cyprus' cultural heritage was praised by the Speaker of the House of Representatives, Anita Demetriou.
According to a statement of the House of Representatives, Mrs. Demetriou received on Monday the Greek Cypriot co-chairman and the members of the Technical Committee for Cultural Heritage Sotos Kotori, Ioannis Kari, Alekos Tringidis, Katerina Fragoulidou and Natalie Neophytou.
"The Speaker of the Parliament praised the contribution of the Technical Committee in the efforts to rescue, preserve and promote the cultural heritage monuments of our country", it is stated.
It is added that during the meeting Mrs. Demetriou was informed about the projects that have already been completed as well as the ongoing projects, as well as about the development of digital tools that will enable the new generation of Cypriots to get to know the cultural diversity of Cyprus.
For his part, Dr. Ktoris underlined that the functioning of the Technical Committee is based on a culture of understanding and mutual respect and assured the Speaker of the Parliament that the Committee will continue to work for the protection and respect of Cyprus' cultural heritage, the statement concludes.
