Following previous meetings and consultations, the Minister of Education, Culture, Sports and Youth, Prodromos Prodromou, today chaired a meeting with representatives of private universities to discuss ways to better promote Cyprus as a centre of higher education.
According to a statement from the Ministry of Education, speaking at the meeting, Mr. Prodromou said that, based on the relevant decision of the Council of Ministers to support university education, we should promote Cyprus as a country where quality university education is provided.
In this context, he pointed out that we should make a comprehensive planning, so that interested students have direct information, as well as access to valid information regarding universities and their study programmes.
To this end, it is reported that an advisory body, with the participation of representatives of the Universities, has been consulted in order to gather the necessary material for information and promotion.

The meeting was attended by representatives of the Universities of Nicosia, European, Frederick, Neapolis, UCLAN and Philips, as well as the President of the Higher Education Assurance and Accreditation Body (HEA), the Director and the Chairman of the Board of Directors of the Cyprus Investment Promotion Agency (CIPA) and a representative of the Director General of the Ministry of Foreign Affairs.
