The agenda of the President's presence in Brest for the One Ocean Summit
The President of the Republic will have meetings with the President of the European Council and the US President's envoy on Climate Change. Nicos Anastasiades on the sidelines of his participation in the "One Ocean" Summit to be held tomorrow in Brest, France, as Government Spokesman Marios Pelicanos said today.
In his statements to the media from France, where the President of the Republic and his entourage arrived today at noon, Mr. Pelecanos said that "the President of the Republic will participate tomorrow in the 'One Ocean' Summit organised by the French Presidency of the EU at the invitation of the President of France, Mr Emmanuel Macron. Heads of State from outside the EU have also been invited and will participate in the Summit."
More specifically, President Anastasiades will participate in the proceedings of the Summit starting tomorrow morning and will be a speaker at a roundtable discussion on 'One Ocean of Solutions for Climate Change'.
The theme of the President's speech will be tackling climate change with a focus on Green Shipping.
President Macron and a group of leaders of EU Member States, other countries and international organisations will also take part in the debate.
In the margins of the Summit, the President of the Republic is expected to hold meetings with the President of the European Council, Mr. Charles Michel, as well as with the US President's Special Envoy for Climate Change, Mr. John Kerry, with whom he will also discuss at length his initiative to address the consequences of climate change in the Eastern Mediterranean and the Middle East."
