44-year-old wanted man arrested in Paphos Detained

Police handcuffed the 44-year-old wanted man, whose photo was released for the purpose of tracking him down.

According to the Police, the 44-year-old wanted in connection with investigated cases of illegal possession of firearm and explosives, illegal possession of property, as well as residential burglary and theft, committed between the dates of 24/1/2020 - 8/2/2022 in the city and district of Paphos, was arrested and taken into custody.

Police raided his apartment as part of the investigation into the two escapees

It is recalled that, as reported in a previous post, large stolen property was found in the apartment of the 44-year-old in Paphos who is allegedly linked to one of the two suspects who escaped from the Paphos police headquarters' detention centre in the early hours of Saturday morning.

Yesterday the apartment of the man, who is wanted in a case of burglary and theft, was searched and due to the fact that he was not located the search was carried out in the presence of the mayor of the Technical area in Paphos.

Among the property found inside the apartment were computers, mobile phones, power tools, hand tools, electrical equipment, jewellery, coins of various countries, banknotes as well as a DOKO type shotgun with a cut barrel and stock.

From further examinations, he added, it was found that all the recovered items came from a burglary that took place in the village of Steni during December 2020.
