Detailed weather forecast

Today, the weather will be mainly cloudy and local showers and isolated thunderstorms are expected,[/B] while snowfall is expected locally in the mountains, which may be dense at times. Occasional snowfall or sleet is also expected in some semi-mountainous areas, while the phenomena will be quite limited from midday onwards. The winds will be generally westerly to north-westerly, in the morning very strong, 6 Beaufort and occasionally locally in the west and mainly on the northern coast up to strong, 6to 7 Beaufort. From the afternoon onwards the winds weaken and become strong to very strong, 5 to 6 Beaufort, of the same direction. The sea will be choppy to choppy on the south and east coasts and very choppy on the west and north coasts. The temperature will rise to around 10 degrees inland, in the west and north coasts, around 12 degrees in the south and east coasts and around minus 4 degrees in the higher mountains. Frost will prevail locally in the mountains.

Tonight, the weather will be partly cloudy and mostly cloudy at times and occasional rain is expected. Occasional snowfall is expected in mountainous areas, while snow or sleet is expected in some semi-mountainous areas. Winds will be west to northwest, moderate to strong, 4 to 5 Beaufort and locally strong, 5 Beaufort, becoming light to moderate, 3 to 4 Beaufort and locally moderate, 4 Beaufort, later in mainly windy areas. The sea will be rough, on the south and east coasts and choppy, on the west and north coasts. The temperature will drop to around 3 degrees inland, around 5 on the south and east coasts, around 7 on the west and north coasts and around minus 7 degrees in the higher mountains. On Sunday, the weather remains mainly cloudy, with local showers at times and snow in mountainous areas, while snow or sleet is expected locally in semi-mountainous areas.

On Monday,[/B] periods of sunshine will alternate with periods of increased cloudiness, while in the evening the weather will become partly cloudy with isolated showers and snow in the mountains or even in the semi-mountains.

During the three days total frost will prevail locally in mountainous areas.

Temperatures will drop slightly at the weekend and rise slightly on Monday, to be generally well below average.

The snow depth at Troodos Square, at the time of writing, was 34 cm.
