The popular singer spoke on BBC One's "The Graham Norton Show" about her new album "Midnights" and recalled the audition, which she said did not go well at all.
Taylor Swift said she knew from the start that she would not be cast in the film adaptation of the iconic stage musical.
"I prepared for two roles. I had the look of Titica (Cosette) and the vocals of Eponine (Éponine). So it turned out that I was there in good conditions, but not for long. I wasn't going to get any part," Taylor Swift originally says.

Below she explained that when she was invited to go to London for the audition, she already knew she wouldn't be chosen for the role, but wanted to experience it. "It's not an experience I'll get many times in my life," she said.
In fact, she had another motivation. In the audition, she would see her favorite actor, Eddie Redmayne. However, it was ultimately this that caused her the most anxiety.
"When I got there, they dressed me in 19th century clothes and told me they were going to paint my teeth brown. I said, 'I'm going to do that after I meet Eddie Redmayne, right?" she said with a laugh.
But it didn't work out that way. "They made me look like a dead person. It was a nightmare," she said, while saying she was in a state of panic. "When I met Eddie, I didn't even open my mouth to talk to him," she said."
A short time later, the film's production manager, Tom Hooper said he did not choose Swift as she "didn't fit the character of a poor girl who goes unnoticed."
