The opening of Varosha has added great potential to the economy of the pseudo-state, said Turkish Cypriot leader Ersin Tatar.
In a speech at the Caesarea Chamber of Commerce and Industry, Mr. Tatar said they will be stronger with the cooperation developed with Turkey.
"With the Republic of Turkey's cooperation in the Blue Homeland, based on the geopolitical, geostrategic and changing situation in the Eastern Mediterranean, it is of great benefit to continue our policy to maintain both the Republic of Turkey's sovereignty in the seas and its sovereignty to protect our supremacy in the skies," he said.
According to him, the success of "tdvk", as he referred to the pseudo-state, "in tourism has now approached 30 thousand beds and our investments are still continuing."
"The opening of Varosha, which was secured with the full support of our President Tayyip Erdogan and his government, is a great opportunity for the economy of tdvk," he added.
He went on to say that "in addition, 75 million square meters of water transferred from Anatolia by the Alakyopru Dam, the project of the century, is a great blessing, wealth and has increased our potential to develop our economy and tourism."
He also said that "we must be strong. For us to be strong, investment must increase." It is, he added, "our greatest wish and wish that the relations that will be established with various centres in Turkey on these economic issues will be manifested as support for Tskhinvali."
