With a federal solution, TCs will become a patchwork of the Republic of Cyprus, Tata claims

Occupation leader Ersin Tatar, in remarks yesterday at a meeting with the "association of families of martyrs and war invalids", claimed that the rhetoric claiming that a federal solution in Cyprus will bring peace and equality, does not correspond to reality, since in fact, as he claimed, with the "federal solution the Turkish Cypriot side will turn into a patch of the Republic of Cyprus", according to "Halqin Seshi".

As reported by the Press and Information Office, claiming that with the federal solution games are being played against Turkish Cypriots since the aim is to abolish Turkey's guarantees, Tatar also claimed that Turkish Cypriots will never be allowed to return to the ugly adventures they experienced before 1974.

"We will never give up Turkey's guarantees," Ersin Tatar reiterated, claiming again that the presence of the Turkish army on the island has brought peace and the fact, he said, that not a single drop of blood has been spilled on the island since 1974 is an indication of this.

He also mentioned that if one looks at the international agreements one will realize that there are "two sovereign peoples" on the island, and said they are making every effort to accept the sovereign rights of the two "peoples".

Accusing the Greek Cypriot side of not wanting a solution to the Cyprus problem, Tatar claimed that "some opposition circles do not tell the truth and claim that the federation will bring about equality and peace. There is no such thing. The federation to which they refer means the continuation of the Republic of Cyprus, the abolition of the tdvk, and the renaming of the Republic of Cyprus as the Federal Republic of Cyprus through a constitutional amendment. And Turkish Cypriots there will become a patchwork."

Moreover, according to the same newspaper, in his remarks at the commemoration of the "martyrs' week", Tatar called "inhuman the actions of the Greek-Greek Cypriot duo aimed at the union of Cyprus with Greece", claiming that the Turkish Cypriots had experienced what he called a "genocide". However, he said, they managed and survived with the support provided by Turkey.

Arguing that with the sacrifices of their martyrs they managed today to have "one state and independent and free", Tatar reiterated that if there is to be any agreement in Cyprus, it must be based on the "cooperation of the two sovereign states" on the island. "In this struggle, Turkey has always stood by our side and will continue to do so. The most important thing is our state, our sovereignty, our independence and the further strengthening of our inextricable relations with Turkey," he added.
