The result of the early "parliamentary elections" in the occupied territories sends a message to the world that the "two-state solution" policy has been accepted by the "people", claimed TC leader Ersin Tatar.

Considering that the CEC is the party with the most votes and that the votes of the PP, which is its partner in the current "government" have not decreased, it can be concluded that the political vision and arguments put forward by the "government" are accepted by the people, Tatar said. As reported from the occupied territories, the TC leader referred to the continuation of the current "government", possibly with the cooperation of another party.

Tatar announced that from tomorrow he will start meetings with political parties and after these meetings he may give a mandate to form a "government" to Faiz Soutsuoglu, leader of KEE who came first in the "elections".

Commenting on the low voter turnout, he attributed it to the fact that there were many who did not participate due to the pandemic and Omicron variant, the cold weather and the fact that many people registered on the "electoral rolls" live abroad.

Addressing those who boycotted the "elections" for various reasons, Tatar recalled that he had made many appeals for the will of the people to be reflected in the "elections". "Those who boycotted the elections have no right to speak at this time. A difficult process awaits us. There are economic problems and structural distortions in the country. To correct them, serious decisions must be taken and the necessary support must be given here through the economic cooperation protocols with the Turkish Republic," Tatar said, while congratulating the CEC and Faiz Soutsuoglu, who increased the number of "deputies".

The TC leader congratulated all political parties that elected "deputies" for their success, as well as the PKK, which will continue to function as the "official" opposition after increasing its votes, saying it is necessary to pay attention to what the "official" opposition said in this process.

He added that the two-state policy he put forward 15 months ago and the policy he put forward after his election, according to which there can be an agreement in Cyprus with the cooperation of two sovereign states, was once again confirmed by "the people". The support for this policy in the "parliament" under formation reaches 65 percent, he claimed.

"These results are a slap, in my opinion, against marginalized groups that are developing daily disturbing rhetoric against Turkey and against us," he said, adding that the "electoral process was conducted with democratic maturity and democratic understanding."
