They are thrown into the "battle" of quarterly exams amid an "explosion" of cases "Rain" of positive cases in schools A mess with the "test to stay" measure
Middle school students are being thrown into the "battle" of quarterly exams[/B] today, at a time when the incidents in schools are breaking record after record every day.
Specifically, students of B' and C' Lyceum and Technical Schools will attend today their first class for their first quarter exams, while A' Lyceum students will start their exams on Monday with the Modern Greek course.
It should be noted that the exams for the first semester will end on Friday 28 January (see here for the schedule).
Health "bomb" schools
The situation with the positive cases in schools is causing concern, since day by day the Ministry of Health announces a new record number of cases.
Specifically, yesterday the Ministry of Health announced the detection of 259 new cases in schools.
Specifically, 165 cases were detected in primary education, 94 in secondary schools[/B] and 8 cases in special schools.
Confusion with the "test to stay" measure
At the same time, the Ministers of Education and Health are looking for the golden mean for the optimal implementation of the "test to stay" measure in primary and secondary schools.
Where it seemed certain that the measure would be implemented from next Monday, January 17, at their meeting yesterday with the Head of the Scientific Advisory Committee Mr. Konstantinos Tsioutis and officials of the Ministry of Health, it was decided to suspend the implementation of the measure until a way to implement it was found.
In fact, the educational organisations will be informed at a meeting to be held on Monday 17 January 2022, where the start date of the implementation of the measure "test to stay" will be announced.
It is clarified that confusion has arisen regarding the mandatory nature of the measure. While it was made clear from the outset that the measure would be mandatory, however, in yesterday's announcement the Ministry of Health clarified the following: "This measure will be an option for students", suggesting that the measure is optional, but in a corrective statement it subsequently removed this quote.
