Strong message from EU and NATO Putin brings war back to Europe will be held accountable

The EU and NATO sent a strong message against Russian President Vladimir Putin during a joint press conference.

European Council President Charles Michel called the attack on a sovereign state unjustified, stressing that Putin will be held accountable.

"We stand by every country that wishes to uphold international order," Michel said, appealing to Belarus and its people not to follow the destructive choice.

For her part, Commission President Ursula von der Leyen said we are more united than ever.

She pointed out that "sanctions will lead to a serious deterioration of the Russian economy and will seriously limit its growth." He concluded by saying that the stability of Europe is at stake.

"Putin is bringing war back to Europe," said NATO Secretary General Jens Stoltenberg.

We call on Russia to stop the attacks, which it is launching to rewrite history.Stoltenberg.
