Stabilisation measures across Europe due to Omicron's onslaught The picture on the Old Continent
Countries are taking measures that were used in previous phases of the pandemic, one by one, in the shadow of the new Omicron mutation of the coronavirus and in the run-up to the holidays.
Only with a negative 72-hour molecular test or a 24-hour rapid test will all travelers, vaccinated or not, from other countries be allowed to enter Greece, starting at 6 a.m. tomorrow, Sunday.
The measure will apply until January 10.
In France, the government announced a ban on large parties in public places during the holiday season and on fireworks on New Year's Eve.
All citizens, vaccinated or not, are required to undergo a self-diagnostic test before making a visit.
In addition, the conditions for entering the country with a health pass are tightened and the period for receiving the booster dose is reduced to four months from five.
The Irish government mandated that bars and restaurants close at 8 p.m. while reducing the number of people attending all public events.
Berlin, France and Denmark were classified as high-risk countries because of the very high number of coronavirus cases in those countries.
This means that unvaccinated travellers from those countries will now be required to be quarantined for five days while undergoing a diagnostic test on the fifth day.
