Statements are taken on the case of the manslaughter of the 2-month-old infant The two directions that the investigators of the Limassol CID are primarily focusing their attention on The forensic examination is strong evidence in their hands
Having the forensic report as the strongest evidence in the case of the death of the 2-month-old infant, the investigators of the Limassol CID investigating the shocking case, continue the investigation by taking statements from the family and friends of the suspects as well as from residents of the area where the family resides.
Investigations are proceeding at an intense pace, with investigators looking into a homicide case.
As reported in previous reports, according to the forensic examination of the unfortunate little girl's body, her death was caused by malicious traumatic craniocerebral injury from an act, or acts involving violent shaking of the infant, with or without impact on a blunt surface. Known as Shaken Impact Syndrome.

Given the evidence of abuse, the Court yesterday ordered the 8-day detention of the 37-year-old father and the 22-year-old mother, both from Bulgaria.
From the statements taken, investigators are attempting to establish the conditions under which the family lived all this time and whether incidents of violence came to the knowledge of other persons. As reported in yesterday's article, the family was being monitored by Social Welfare Services for an incident of violence that was reported in January 2021, but did not involve children.
As the Cyprus Times is informed, the attention of the investigators is mainly directed in two directions. On the one hand, they are trying to clarify whether the infant from the very beginning of his life was a victim of repeated abuse or whether it was a one-off and on the other hand they are focusing on the second child of the family, a 3-year-old boy. Asked whether there are suspicions that the 3-year-old may also have been a victim of abuse within his family environment, a competent source replied that all possibilities are open and under investigation.
It should be noted that the 3-year-old was transferred to other relatives under the supervision of the competent state services.
In the meantime, the investigators of the Limassol CID are taking statements from the medical and nursing staff of both the Limassol General Hospital where the unfortunate infant was initially transferred, as well as from the Makarios Hospital, where he was subsequently transferred in a very bad condition and expired.
As has already been reported in previous publications, the suspected parents fell into contradictions by being interrogated before and after their arrest. As they told investigators, they had put the baby to sleep and then the baby convulsed. They then decided to take it to the Limassol General Hospital, however -according to their claim- on the way the infant lost consciousness and they tried to revive it by providing them with First Aid. It will be recalled that initially the parents had reported to the doctors at the hospital that the baby had choked while being fed.
The parents, who deny that they deliberately hit the infant, claimed about the violent shaking, that they did it because they were scared and in order to revive the baby.
