[CYPRUS TIMES] State Department: Blinken and Lavrov to meet next week if 'no invasion' by then

The US Secretary of State proposed to his Russian counterpart to meet "in Europe next week" and the Russian side responded

The head of US diplomacy, Anthony Blinken, will meet on neutral territory with his Russian counterpart, Sergei Lavrov, late next week, provided Russia has not invaded Ukraine by then, the State Department said yesterday (Thursday).

Mr. Blinken proposed to Mr. Lavrov to meet "in Europe next week" and the Russian side responded "by counter-proposing dates late next week, which we accepted, provided there is no Russian invasion of Ukraine" by then, said U.S. State Department spokesman Ned Price.
