German Chancellor Olaf Scholz and French President Emmanuel Macron called for an immediate ceasefire in talks with Russian President Vladimir Putin, a German government official said.
Macron and Solts also told Putin on Thursday that any solution to the war in Ukraine must come through negotiations between Ukraine and Russia, the official said.
The three agreed to remain in close contact in the coming days, the German official added.
