Two Greek expatriates in Ukraine were killed by Ukrainian army soldiers.
According to the Foreign Ministry, in addition to the sudden death of two expatriates, two more Greeks were seriously wounded in the village of Granitna, which is located near the contact line in eastern Ukraine.
Three soldiers of the Ukrainian army are responsible for the double homicide, who clashed with the above mentioned expatriates for a trivial reason
The statement of the Ministry of Foreign Affairs
We express our deepest sorrow at the sudden death of two expatriates and serious injury of two others in the village of Granitna, which is located near the contact line in Eastern Ukraine.
We also express our sincere condolences to the families of the victims, as well as wishes for a speedy recovery of the injured.
According to the available evidence, the persons responsible for the double homicide are three soldiers of the Ukrainian army, who clashed with the above mentioned expatriates for a trivial reason.
Foreign Minister Nikos Dendias has requested to speak by telephone with his Ukrainian counterpart Dmytro Kuleba in order to re-emphasize the need to protect the Greek community in Ukraine.

The statement:
A meeting was convened this morning at the Ministry of Foreign Affairs under Foreign Minister Nikos Dendias, with the participation of the Ministers of National Defence, Nikos Panagiotopoulos, the Minister of Education and Religious Affairs, Niki Kerameos, the Deputy Minister of Foreign Affairs, Andreas Katsaniotis, as well as officials of the Ministries concerned.
The Ministry of Foreign Affairs strongly discourages all travel to the entire territory of Ukraine, and at the same time recommends Greek citizens who are in the country to leave the country immediately.
It is also recommended that Greek citizens who have not already departed should immediately provide their contact details to the Greek Embassy in Kiev.
It should be noted in this regard that the staff of the Embassy in Kiev has been reduced to the necessary number.
At the same time, the staff of the Consulate General in Mariupol will be reinforced.
