Slovenian President to pay official visit to Cyprus on Tuesday Contacts on bilateral relations and Cyprus problem
Slovenian President Borut Pahor will pay an official visit to Cyprus on Tuesday for contacts with President Nicos Anastasiades, with whom he will discuss the upgrading of bilateral relations and the Cyprus problem.
According to the programme of the visit, President Pahor will also meet with the Speaker of the Parliament, Anita Demetriou, while in Limassol he will be received by the Mayor of the city, as well as by the Rector of the Cyprus University of Technology and Economics, as he will participate in a discussion with students of the University on "The future of Europe".
As announced by the Director of the President's Press Office, Andreas Joseph, during the official visit of the President of Slovenia to Cyprus, bilateral relations and ways of further deepening cooperation between the two countries will be discussed. There will also be an exchange of views on the role that the small EU member states can play for the future of Europe.
Furthermore, it is noted that President Anastasiades will report on Turkey's provocative actions in the region, its efforts to restart the negotiation process, the Confidence Building Measures it has proposed and more generally on the efforts of the Republic of Cyprus to defend international legitimacy and the initiatives that the country is developing in this direction.
