The weather forecast from the Meteorological Service -Unstable weather conditions affecting the region
Today periods of sunshine will alternate with clouds, expected to produce isolated showers, not excluding the possibility of isolated thunderstorms, mainly from midday onwards. Snow or sleet may occur on the higher Troodos peaks. Winds will be mainly southwest to northwest, light to moderate, 3 to 4 Beaufort. The sea will be a little rough. Temperatures will rise to around 19 degrees inland and on the coast and 6 degrees in the higher mountains.
Tonight the weather will be partly cloudy and isolated showers or thunderstorms are expected, mainly on the coast. Snow or sleet is possible on the higher peaks of the Troodos. Locally, thin fog or mist cannot be ruled out. Winds will blow mainly west to northwest, light 3 Beaufort and the sea will be calm to slightly rough. Temperatures will drop to around 5 degrees inland, around 10 degrees on the coast and 1 degree in the higher mountains, where frost is expected to form.
On Friday and Saturday periods of sunshine will alternate with cloudy spells, which are expected to produce isolated showers, not excluding the possibility of isolated thunderstorms, however on Saturday evening the weather will become mainly cloudy with localised showers and isolated thunderstorms, mainly on the coast.
Sunday will be mainly cloudy with localised showers and thunderstorms and snowfall in the higher mountains. In thunderstorms the phenomena will be transiently intense. Also, especially the headwaters are expected to be affected by a very strong southwesterly breeze.
Temperatures will drop slightly on Friday and no appreciable change on Saturday and Sunday to be near or slightly below average climatic values.
