Shock in Britain Mother and stepfather accused of killing 9-year-old Alfie -Another child death case has shocked Britain
A mother, 34 years old, and her partner, 39 years old, have been charged with the murder of nine-year-old Alfie in a house in Worcestershire in Britain.
More specifically, as reported by dailymail.co.uk, Alfie Steele was found in a critical condition in a house in Droitwich on February 18 last year before being airlifted to the Queen Elizabeth Hospital in Birmingham, where he later died.
Mother and stepfather
His mother and stepfather have been charged with his murder. They will appear in court on February 25, also charged with the offence of child abuse.
Specifically, the pair are accused of "assaulting, abusing, neglecting and abandoning" Alfie before his death.
It is also noted that the nine-year-old was at "substantial risk of serious physical harm" and the mother either "caused his death" or failed to protect him. Both also face a charge of cruelty to a person under the age of 16 between July 13, 2019 and February 18, 2021.
At the time of the incident, West Mercia Police claimed detectives were treating Alfie's death as something "unexplained." His grandfather, Paul Scott, described him as "brave as a lion" in a moving tribute.
Alfie was well-liked in his neighborhood, and residents described him as "smart and curious."[/P
