A 40-year-old man was detained for a case of assault causing grievous bodily harm.
According to Pafos Assistant Police Director Michael Ioannou, on 4.2.22 it was reported to the Pafos CID by a 34-year-old tourist staying in Pafos that on 2.2.22 around 02:30 in the morning he went with a friend to a kiosk in Paphos with her car.
As the complainant reported, while he was sitting in the passenger seat a black vehicle stopped right next to them and the driver opened the window, started shouting at them and asked the complainant why he was looking at him.
At some point the driver of the black vehicle got out of the vehicle and with a fierce attitude allegedly approached the passenger door where the complainant was. Then the driver of the other vehicle allegedly started shouting and then allegedly attacked him with punches in the head and all over his body.
The 34-year-old was subsequently taken to the Paphos General Hospital where it was found that he had a fractured head, fibula, right leg and fractured medial hammer of the right leg. After being fitted with a plaster cast, he was subsequently discharged.
On the same day an arrest warrant was issued against the driver of the vehicle who was located yesterday and arrested. He is a resident of Paphos, 40 years old.
Investigations into the case are continuing by the Paphos Police.
