For the offences of trafficking of adults for sexual exploitation, rape and indecent acts, the police yesterday, on the basis of a court warrant, proceeded to arrest a person in Nicosia.
According to the Cyprus Times, the Greek Cypriot is a man who hired a woman to help him with his agricultural work. Instead, as the complainant alleged, the suspect raped her.
The above offences appear to have been committed in June this year in Nicosia province. According to the police, during the investigation of the case, the complainant was identified as a victim of trafficking for the purpose of sexual exploitation.
The suspect was brought today before the Nicosia District Court, which issued a four-day detention order.
The Anti-Trafficking Bureau continues its investigations.
