Russian delegates arrived in Geneva ahead of negotiations with the United States against the backdrop of the crisis in Ukraine.
In Moscow, the Russian Foreign Ministry this afternoon released a video showing a delegation plane at the Swiss city's airport. The first meeting is already scheduled for tonight. However, the main talks are scheduled for tomorrow, Monday, according to the ministry.
"No concessions"
On the Russian side, Deputy Foreign Minister Sergei Ryabkov will lead the talks.
The latter has already made it clear in an interview with the state news agency Ria Novosti that "we will not make any concessions" and that "we will not go there with an outstretched hand, but with a clearly formulated goal that must be achieved on the terms we have formulated."
Protest
At least one demonstration has taken place in Ukraine ahead of the Geneva talks. Organizers of the protest in the capital Kiev called on the West to say "no" to Russian President Vladimir Putin's ultimatum, the Ukrainian newspaper Den wrote on its website.
