The Secretary of State of the United States of America, Anthony Blinken, said he is convinced that Russian President Vladimir Putin's goal is to overthrow the government of Ukraine.
The US diplomatic chief told the ABC television network the day after the start of the Russian military operation that Moscow would attack the capital and other major cities. We see forces coming from the north, from the east, from the south, and that's the pattern we've been pointing out to the world for the last few weeks, he added.
He assured, however, that Ukraine will prevail. In the short, medium, or long term, I am confident that Ukraine's democracy and independence will win, he said.
