In mountainous areas, due to the prevailing weather conditions roads are open ONLY for vehicles equipped with anti-slip chains or with four-wheel drive:

- Platron - Troodos
- Karvouna - Troodos
- Pedoula - Prodromos
- Pedoula - Pinewood - Kakopetria
- Prodromos - Platron
The Kakopetria - Karvouna road is open to all vehicles but slippery due to frost, as well as the roads in the other mountainous areas.
Police recommend special caution[/B] to those travelling on the road network in mountainous areas, while vehicle drivers are advised to drive at a safe, low speed, maintain a safe distance from vehicles ahead, and give way to other passing drivers where necessary.
In general, those travelling on the road network are advised to obey traffic signs and the road traffic code to avoid road accidents.
