Morning update on the situation on the road network Update from the Police
Several roads in the mountainous areas of the Morphou region are closed to all vehicles, while several other roads in the mountainous areas of Limassol and Nicosia are open only for vehicles with four-wheel drive or equipped with anti-slip chains. All roads in the mountainous areas are slippery due to frost.
Motorways and urban roads are not experiencing any particular problems this morning, Friday 28 January, however roadworks being carried out at various locations may be affecting traffic. In the mountainous areas of Morphou, closed to all vehicles are the roads Pedoulas - Prodromos, Pedoulas - Pine Wood - Kakopetria, Prodromos - Platron, while open only for vehicles with all-wheel drive or equipped with anti-slip chains are Pedoulas - Kykkos - Kambos Platres, Kakopetrias - Karvounas and Kakopetrias - Spilios - Cannabion roads.
In Limassol and Nicosia, roads are open only for vehicles with all-wheel drive or fitted with anti-skid chains:

- Karvouna - Troodos
- Prodromos Troodos
- Papoutsas - Agios Theodoros
- Kyperounda - Agrou
- Paleochori - Agrou
- Paleochori - Aska - Fterikoudi
- Fterikoudi - Alona - Platanistassa
- Polystypou - Lagoudera - Xyliatou
- Lagoudera - Chandria
The police recommend special attention to those travelling on the road network in mountainous areas, and vehicle drivers are advised to drive at a safe, low speed, maintain a safe distance from vehicles ahead, and give way to other passing drivers where necessary.
In general, those travelling on the road network are advised to obey traffic signs and the road traffic code to avoid road accidents.
