On the Nicosia-Lemesos motorway, from Sunday, 20 March 2022 for a period of five months, on the section of the motorway from 500 metres before the exit to Cheri near the Industrial Area of Idalios and for a distance of approximately 2 kilometres, work will continue on the construction of the Nicosia perimeter motorway.
Traffic on the Nicosia - Limassol motorway from Limassol to Nicosia and from Nicosia to Limassol will be carried out in 2 lanes in each direction and the lanes will be shifted to the eastern side of the existing motorway. Traffic from the exit of Industrial Idaliou to the Cheriou bypass will be unobstructed, while traffic from the Cheriou bypass to Nicosia via the motorway will be closed.
Traffic from the Cheriou bypass to Nicosia, will be conducted via the old Nicosia - Limassol road from the JCC light-controlled junction. It is noted that the above arrangement will last for a period of approximately 5 months.
Works on the Nicosia-Lemesos motorway, will also be carried out during the period 9/5/2022 - 31/10/2022, excluding weekends, will involve the installation of emergency gates on the central island of the motorway from Alambra to Germasogeia at twenty (20) locations. During the works, the right lanes towards Limassol and Nicosia will be closed in sections of approximately 100m at each point and traffic will be moved in the adjacent lanes.
On the Limassol - Nicosia motorway, on the section of the motorway from Mouttayaka to Choirokoitia in the direction of Nicosia, during the period 1/8/2022 - 12/8/2022, excluding weekends, between the hours of 07:00 - 16:00, groove cleaning works will be carried out. During the works, the road embankment will be closed for a length of approximately 200m. Traffic will be conducted normally in both lanes.
Also on the Limassol-Lekosia motorway, from Monday 1/8/2022 until Thursday 4/8/2022, works will be carried out to replace the expansion joints on the bridge over the river Yialia. During the works, the embankment and the left lane before and after the Yialia bridge on the Nicosia-bound motorway will be closed for approximately 400m and traffic towards Nicosia will be routed through the two right lanes.
On motorways in the Larnaca district, during the period 27/6/2022 - 4/8/2022, the Forestry Department will carry out green maintenance works on the central islands:
[/P](a) Monday to Thursday, between the hours of 08:30 - 17:00, on the Larnaca - Ayia Napa and Larnaca - Nicosia motorways, from the Airport roundabout to the Rizoelia roundabout and then to Nicosia,
(b) Monday to Friday, between 08:30 - 17:00, on the Larnaca - Kofinou motorway.
During the works, the adjacent lane of the central island will be partially closed in both directions for a length of approximately 1500 m at a time, and traffic will be diverted to the adjacent lane.
On the Larnaca - Ayia Napa motorway between Larnaca Airport and Rizoelia roundabout, and on the Larnaca - Nicosia motorway between Rizoelia roundabout and the overhead bridge near the village of Lympia, during the period 27/6/2022 - 4/8/2022, between the hours of 08:30 - 17:00, daily, except Friday, Saturday and Sunday, the Forestry Department will carry out pruning operations on the central island. During the work, the adjacent lane of the main island will be partially closed in both directions for a length of 1500 m at a time, and traffic will be diverted to the adjacent lane.
On the section of the Larnaca - Ayia Napa motorway, from Larnaca Airport to the Rizoelia roundabout, during the period 4/7/2022 - 10/8/2022, between the hours of 08:30 - 14:30 daily except weekends, the Forestry Department will carry out tree watering works on the slopes of the motorway in both directions towards Ayia Napa and Larnaca Airport. During the works, part of the motorway embankment will be closed in sections of approximately 100m at a time.
On the Larnaca - Kofinou motorway between Larnaca Airport, the roundabout of Kalo Choriou to Kofinou, during the period 27/6/2022 - 29/7/2022, between the hours of 08:30 - 17:00, daily, except weekends, pruning works will be carried out on the central island by the Forestry Department. During the work, the adjacent lane of the main island will be partially closed in both directions for a length of 500 m. at a time, and traffic will be diverted to the adjacent lane.
In Larnaca, on Saturday 30/7/2022 and Sunday 31/7/2022, between the hours of 08:00 - 15:00, the Cyprus Telecommunications Authority (CYTA) will carry out network maintenance works on a section of Spyrou Kyprianou and Giannou Kranidioti Avenue. During the works, part of the left lane of Spyrou Kyprianou Avenue from the 'Nea Salamina' roundabout to the junction of the Avenue with S. Timagia Street and for a length of approximately 300m, will be closed and traffic will be diverted to the adjacent lane. Subsequently, part of the left lane of Yannou Kranidiotis Avenue 200m. before the roundabout 'Nea Salamina' in the direction of the port, will be closed locally over manholes and traffic will be diverted to the adjacent lane.
In Aradippou, on Hellas Avenue, during the period 27/07/2022 - 05/08/2022, between the hours of 06:00 - 12:00 daily except weekends, cleaning operations of the central islands will be carried out by the Municipality of Aradippou. During the works, the adjacent lanes will be partially closed from both directions for approximately 500 meters, and traffic will be diverted to the adjacent lane.
In the Aradippou area, in parts of Eleftherias, Australia, Acropolis, Greece, and Grivas Digenis avenues, during the period 07/07/2022 - 05/08/2022, between the hours of 0800 - 1300, the Municipality of Aradippou will carry out green maintenance works on the central islands. During the works, the adjacent traffic lane will be partially closed from both directions for a length of approximately 100-200m. at a time and traffic will be diverted to the adjacent traffic lane.
In Boroklini, on Wednesday 3/8/2022 and Thursday 4/8/2022, between the hours of 08:00 - 15:00, local repairs to the asphalt pavement will be carried out from the junction of the Dhekelia coastal road to the junction with the Community Council. During the works, one lane of the Borough Road will be closed in sections (100 metres at a time) and traffic will be directed to the adjacent lane using STOP & GO signage.
In the Nicosia district, specifically in Deftera, on Griva Digenis Avenue, Anthoupolis - Paleochori road, from Friday, 27 May 2022 and for a period of five (5) months, construction work will be carried out on a roundabout at the junction with Agia Marina Street. During the works, traffic from Anthoupolis to Paleochori and vice versa will be routed through a temporary bypass road of approximately 300m in length. The junction of Grivas Digenis Avenue with Agia Marina Street will be closed and drivers from Palechori to Deftera are advised to use the previous exit to Anayia - Pano Deftera.
In Limassol, at Agios Athanasios Avenue, on Sunday 31/7/2022 and Sunday 7/8/2022, from 04:30am, until 19:00pm, road maintenance works will be carried out. During the works the following regulations will apply:
On Sunday 31/7/2022, the section of Agios Athanasios Avenue from its junction with Iapetus Street to its junction with Kantaras Street will be closed to traffic in both
directions and traffic will be routed through the secondary road network of the Agios Athanasios Industrial Area, Kantaras and Georgiou Neophytou streets as well as Kolonaki and Spyrou Kyprianou avenues.
On Sunday 7/8/2022, the section of Agios Athanasios Avenue from the light-controlled junction with Spyrou Kyprianou Avenue to the light-controlled junction with Kolonaki Avenue (traffic lights of Linopetra) will be closed to traffic in both directions and traffic will be directed through Georgiou Neophytou Street, Spyrou Kyprianou and Kolonaki Avenues as well as the secondary road network of the area.
In Limassol, specifically in Yermasogeia, at the junction of Christakis Kranou Street and Daidalidon Street, during the period 21/2/2022 - 13/8/2022, construction works of a roundabout will be carried out.
In Navarinou Street, Limassol, from the junction of the roundabout of Eleftherias Street to the traffic lights of Irini Street, also within the framework of the Major Flood Control Project of the Limassol Centre, from Thursday 30 June, work will be carried out on the installation of rainwater drains. The works are expected to be completed by Monday 5 September.
Also in Limassol and Amathus, from Tuesday 26 July, work will be carried out on the installation of storm drains on Dodecanisou Street from its junction with Grigori Afxentiou Street to its junction with Idaliou Street. The works are expected to be completed by Wednesday, 31 August.
In Paphos, in the area of Geroskipou, from Tuesday 5 April 2022, until Monday 6 March 2023, the B6 - A6 link road (Limassol - Paphos), will be closed to traffic, due to construction work on the construction of a roundabout at Kinira Street in Geroskipou. During the works, drivers and pedestrians will be able to use a temporary detour road constructed for this purpose.
On the old Paphos-Lemesos road, from 7/2/2022 - 7/9/2022 (for 7 months), at the junction of Hippokratous Street and the old Paphos-Lemesos road (Makarios C Avenue), in Geroskipou Municipality, road improvement works will be carried out by the Paphos Public Works Department. During the works, roads will remain open and traffic to/from Geroskipou will operate according to temporary road markings.
On the old Nicosia-Lemesos road, the eastern road connecting the road to Vasilikos port will be closed to traffic during the period 23/4/2022 - 23/10/2022, as part of the construction works of Phase 1 of the Vasilikos Energy Centre Road Network. During the works, all traffic to and from Vasilikos will be diverted to the corresponding western road, through the Community of Mari. The movement of vehicles and pedestrians, on adjacent roads and residences will be subject to local arrangements.
In addition, during the period 18/7/2022 - 12/8/2022, daily except Sunday, between the hours of 07:30 - 18:00, water pipeline construction works will be carried out by the Water Development Department on the old Nicosia-Lemesos road. During the works, part of the old Nicosia - Limassol road, from the offices of the Water Development Department at Choirokoitia and for a length of approximately 200m. in the direction of Skarinou, will be closed, and traffic will be subject to the use of traffic lights.
