A human skeleton, allegedly belonging to a woman was found by a hunter in a rugged area of Rhodes, between Psinthos, Maritsa and Kalithies this morning.
According to rodiaki.gr, officers of the Rhodes security, members of the Rhodes Fire Service rushed to the spot, while a coroner and the head of the Public Prosecutor's Office were notified.
The authorities are examining the possibility that the skeleton belongs to a 60-year-old foreigner, who had disappeared in December of 2020. In particular, it is a British woman, who had been living for 15 years in the area of Kalithia and had not appeared to receive the food she was entitled to from the municipality. A silver alert had been issued for her disappearance.
Police officers are looking into this scenario as many of the woman's features, such as her height, hair colour and dress, refer them to the British woman.
But full confirmation will come from the evidence and specialised investigations that will be carried out in the coming hours.
