Resignations from the Board of Directors of the Cyprus Panagrotiko Association after Yapanis' statements against cow farmers They were annoyed with what he said in the noon broadcast of RIK on the issue of what is happening with haloumi

Their resignation from the Board of Directors of the Cyprus Panagrotiko Association, announced Nicolas Lingis and Georgios Parpas, Assistant Secretaries, members of the Board of Directors of the Association and Michalis Leonidou, Organising Secretary of Kyrenia District, following the unacceptable statements, they said, Tassos Yapanis against the Pancyprian Cow Farmers Organization, in the noon newscast of RIK1 "FROM DAY TO DAY", on June 2, 2022, on the subject of what is happening with haloumi.

More specifically, in a joint statement they say that Mr. Yapanis, instead of refuting the arguments of the representative of the Pancyprian Cow Farmers' Organization (POPA), and justifying the positions of his organization, made slanderous, as they say, "vague statements and even after the departure of the POPA representative from the show".

"We consider that such attitudes insult the history of the Cyprus Pan-Agricultural Association and do not serve the well-meaning interests of the agricultural movement", they state and add that "as a result of the above, we are forced to withdraw both from the Board of Directors and from members of the Cyprus Pan-Agricultural Association, at least until Mr. Yapanis will continue to be in any way part of Panagrotikos."

Furthermore, Mr. Liggis, Mr. Parpas and Mr. Leonidou state in their joint statement that "as producers of the primary sector, we cannot continue to participate in an agricultural organization in which such unethical attitudes are manifested and/or cultivated, let alone by those who are committed to serving the interests of the farmers of Cyprus."
