Investigations[/B] into the death of 33-year-old Filios are ongoing, mother of two children from Greece - a resident of Larnaca - who "passed away" suddenly at the city's General Hospital last Tuesday.
Following the tragic incident, the family made a complaint to the authorities for medical negligence, while the Health Ministry requested information about the woman's medical history, as well as the events reported by her relatives before the fatality occurred.
Today the Health Minister is expected to meet with the family of the 33-year-old woman in the early afternoon, in order to receive an update on what transpired at the Larnaca General Hospital before the woman breathed her last. However, according to Filios' family, the woman had a history of thrombophilia and had been vaccinated a few days ago.
Last Monday she visited Larnaca General Hospital after bruising her arm and was given aspirin. Afterwards and after not feeling well she visited a private doctor and was told, according to her family, that she was probably suffering from coronavirus so he proceeded with a test.
The next day the woman got worse and went back to the hospital where she was intubated and unfortunately a few hours later she died.
The family, who are seeking answers as to the exact cause of death of the unfortunate Filio, requested that a second autopsy be performed on her body as samples for histopathological and toxicological tests were taken from the first one conducted by the coroner.
Police are investigating the family's complaint of medical negligence, and statements have already begun to be taken from family members as well as hospital staff.
Tomorrow a protest will be held outside Larnaca Hospital[/B] with the family calling for the resignation of those responsible for Filios' death.
