Of decisive importance for the development of the case of the gang rape of Georgia Bika in Thessaloniki will be the toxicological tests that are expected to be officially delivered to the investigator today or Monday at the latest. The judicial authorities have already been informed of the results of the laboratory test by the forensic department of the Aristotle University. The final conclusion, however, will be delivered as soon as the results from the laboratory in Switzerland arrive, where the amount of alcohol in the girl's body will be specified.
The 32-year-old maitre d' who invited 24-year-old Georgia to the suite denied accusingly before the interrogator of Thessaloniki that he is the organizer of the party. The 24-year-old Georgia has started to go to work normally as she wants to return to her everyday life in order to be supported psychologically.
All those who passed even for a few minutes on New Year's Eve from the suite have already started to testify, while in the next week the two friends of Georgia who were with her that night will testify as witnesses.
The testimony that "turns the facts"
A new testimony is said to turn the facts and bring a new dimension to this long-running story involving many. Other two witnesses, people who were in the room of the hotel on the evening of New Year's Eve, approached the lawyer of the last witness who testified to the authorities what he saw and expressed their intention to also testify to the authorities what happened. Apart from the alleged perpetrators, whom Georgia Bika has accused of rape, there were more than 17 people in the hotel room that night.
The testimony of the last witness to the authorities complicates matters even more as it presents a diametrically opposite version of what Georgia Bika has accused. As the witness' lawyer, Thanos Karatsioli, stated, "My client was in the suite throughout the party. It presents a different reality. He says he saw the 24-year-old when he returned to the hotel and, as he claims, he did not see her in the poor condition he mentions. He did not see anything strange or anything related to illegal acts at the party," the lawyer added.
As for the two people who were at the party, they have approached Thanos Karatsioli and have expressed their desire to testify. The two people, who were invited to the same party with 24-year-old Georgia, allegedly recounted what happened at dawn on New Year's Eve, also presenting significant differences in relation to the narrative of the complainant.
