The disclosure of the result of the toxicology test, which is expected to shed light on the case, is in the final stretch. There are more women reporting similar nightmarish experiences

Repeated invitations to private parties, offers of drugs and intense pressure through text messages and phone calls regarding her presence at these parties is described in her statements to the investigating authorities by 24-year-old Georgia Bika, the girl who was raped on New Year's Eve in a luxury hotel suite in Thessaloniki.

On the pages of her testimonies, published by protothema.gr, revive both the nightmarish moments she experienced in room 602 of the hotel in Thessaloniki and revealing details of the actions of the persons involved in the complex case, which is being investigated thoroughly and in every direction by the police and judicial authorities.

The victims

Besides, the 24-year-old girl's aim is to get justice for what she suffered, as she herself stated, but also to encourage other victims to "break" their silence by denouncing similar behaviour. Against the background of the stormy developments, the mouths are slowly opening in Thessaloniki, according to the defense lawyer of the 24-year-old, Thanasis Ziogas, who announced yesterday that two other girls fled to his office to denounce what they experienced in 2016 and 2018, having been raped "in the same way", as Mr.

Meanwhile, the 24-year-old girl referred to the practice of a "group" to the investigating authorities, specifically describing the role of the alleged "host" of the New Year's Eve party. "I have heard that M works in the same way with other girls. He may do it deliberately and invite them to various parties held in hotels or rental houses," testified Georgia Bika, while adding about him that "he has asked me at an earlier party in 2021 if I want to use drugs, specifically cocaine, to offer me and I told him no." Furthermore, in her statement she claims that "he has invited me four other times to such parties. In some that I have not been to he insisted that I go", reflecting the frequency of the parties.

At the same time, in her additional statement to the authorities, the 24-year-old girl identified a person as the man who asked her to sleep with her and insisted against her will, she simply did not remember, as she says, what happened next, while also testifying to the existence of a second man in the room where she was raped. "The two men took advantage of my weakness due to excessive alcohol consumption. I do not know if my drink contained any other substance," the victim pointed out.

The second person

Given that a new testimony, the fourth in a row, of Georgia Bika is imminent, probably on Friday and in the presence of a psychologist, it is not excluded that the 24-year-old girl will identify a second person who acted in her rape, according to her lawyer. "With the new evidence coming to her mind, another person may be identified," Ziogas explained.

"I only remember that one of the two men was a young man with relatively short blond hair, had blue eyes and told me in good Greek that he was from Athens. The other one I cannot remember at all, as, as I told you above, I was in a state of intoxication. Also, I do not remember anything from the moment I met the two men what happened and where they took me, "described Georgia Bika in her testimony, while sporadically since then return her memories of the abhorrent event.

Signs of violence

Regarding the content of the forensic examination, the 24-year-old girl's lawyer argued that "there are signs of violence, because, as she claimed, since she was not aware of what was happening, she was not able to put up any resistance." Specifically, Thanasis Ziogas, said that from the examination on the young woman there are bruises on the left and right thigh, the first and fourth quadrants and the midsection, while the forensic doctor signed that it is not excluded that lewd acts were committed during intercourse.

Mr. Ziogas also estimated that the notification of the result of the toxicological examination, which is expected at the beginning of next week at the latest, is in the final stage. Its result, however, is what is expected to largely decide the fate of the case and especially of the alleged perpetrators, as in case Georgia Bika's allegations about the administration of drugs or other substances by the perpetrators in her drink are confirmed, this will mean an upgrade of the indictment and consequently their sentences.

Investigations in Cyprus

Apart, however, from the action of the persons involved within the walls, the investigation of the case, in the part concerning the existence of a possible pimping ring, has been going on for the last few hours in Cyprus, in order to investigate whether there are extensions in the Greater Isle, given that Cypriot citizens are also involved in the case. For this reason, AKEL MP Christos Christofides contacted activist Ilias Gioni, who was the first to disclose the case on social networks, so that he, in turn, could testify to the Cypriot authorities.

Lifting on mobile phones

In another level of the investigation, the prosecutor requested yesterday that the young girl's phone privacy be lifted in order to examine text messages and phone calls received by the 24-year-old, at a time when "I pledged to produce the phone calls on her cell phone as well as the content of the messages inviting her to return to the party," her lawyer stressed.

Meanwhile, the intervention of the Public Prosecutor's Office was prompted yesterday by the 24-year-old girl's complaint, during her interview on zougla.gr, that the lawyer, who was at the Security Department to represent the alleged rapist, attacked her. Specifically, the head of the prosecution asked the Criminal Prosecutor to order a preliminary examination to determine whether the crime of "attempted unlawful violence" against lawyer Theophilos Alexopoulos is established. Following this, the 24-year-old woman, the police officers who were present at the police station will be called to testify, while the lawyer is expected to testify anonymously.

"At the station I was alone. Defenseless. I didn't have my lawyer because he was away on a trip. There was only the opposing side. There was their lawyer, who also attacked me. The policemen took him out of the room because he addressed me and tried to make me back off," the 24-year-old stresses in her interview, while for the identity of the lawyer, she says it was "Mr. Alexopoulos."

For his part, the lawyer Theophilos Alexopoulos denies the allegations of 24-year-old Georgia Bika. "At no point in the preliminary investigation and never to date have I been in contact with the complainant whom I do not know, and certainly the alleged verbal assault never happened not only because it is illegal but mainly because it does not reflect my principles and my ethics, my human-centered approach to the profession I practice and the respect I owe and always show to all parties to the trial," he said, among other things, in a statement. Alexopoulos, while earlier yesterday the SYRIZA-Progressive Alliance proceeded to suspend the party status of Mr. Alexopoulos.

"Mr. Theofilos Alexopoulos as a lawyer has the self-evident right and obligation to choose to whom he will provide his legal services. As a member of SYRIZA-Progressive Alliance, however, he cannot be involved in rape victim allegations of "victim blaming", which come into frontal conflict with the moral and value load of the party and the Left, "said the Prefectural Committee of SYRIZA-PS A Thessaloniki, concluding that "for this reason, the party membership of Mr. Theofilos Alexopoulos is suspended until the full clarification of the case."
