Russia's "rubber girl" and current mistress of Russian President Vladimir Putin has reportedly fled to Switzerland for security reasons.

38-year-old Alina Kabaeva, an Olympic gold medalist in rhythmic gymnastics who posed half-naked on the cover of a men's magazine in 2004, is hiding in a very private and secure chalet owned by the Kremlin strongman along with their four children, according to British media citing a source from the website Page Six.

"Alina has had two boys and twin girls with Putin born in Switzerland. The children have Swiss passports, as I imagine she also has," the same unnamed source added.

Vladimir Putin wanted to protect his own people seeing that Russian soldiers are meeting strong resistance from the Ukrainians.

A few days ago, a Russian political scientist said that the 69-year-old Russian president's official mistress is hiding with their children in Siberia.

For 61-year-old Russian professor Valery Solovei, the Kremlin strongman's family is in Siberia's "underground city" built to survive nuclear war.

However, whether hiding in a chalet in Switzerland or a nuclear bunker in Siberia, Alina is the focus of international media attention as Russia's "first mistress."

She has reportedly been the Russian president's favorite since 2008, and in her last rare public appearances, some have spotted her wearing a wedding ring on her right.

For his part, Russia's strongman continues to maintain silence about his personal life.

All he announced in 2013 was that he was separating from his wife of 30 years and mother of two daughters, Ludmilla.

A year later he said during a press conference that he was in love and everyone thought he was one step closer to marrying Alina Kabaeva.

For Putin's sake, Kabaeva gave up her career in sports, initially setting her sights on the political arena.

She served for six years as a deputy of the Kremlin's United Russia party and ran Russia's largest private pro-government media conglomerate, National Media Group (NMG).

As long as Putin's war in Ukraine lasts, however, Alina will be missing, with scripts giving and taking about her hiding place.
