An analysis by a leading US military think tank claims that Russian forces are preparing for an attack on Kiev immediately.
It specifically states that Russia is preparing to attack Kiev in the coming days, possibly even tonight.
The Institute for the Study of War reports that Russian forces are massing in the eastern, northwestern and western suburbs of the capital.

The analysis released last night specifically states that the Russian attack on Kiev will take place in the next 24-96 hours.
"The Russians are boosting their supplies and reinforcements as they conduct artillery, air and missile attacks to weaken Kiev's defenses and intimidate its defenders ahead of such an attack," it says.
The analysis argues that the operation could mark a pivotal moment in Russia's invasion of Ukraine, given the uncertainty over whether or not an attack on Kiev could ultimately be successful.
"It is too early to assess the potential effectiveness of any Russian effort to complete the encirclement of Kiev or take the city at this time," it says.
"If Russian troops were able to resupply, reorganize, and plan targeted and coordinated simultaneous operations along the various axes of advance around and within the capital, they may be more successful in this operation than in previous operations."
