Putin warns the West Food prices worldwide will rise further as long as you impose sanctions on Russia

Vladimir Putin claims that the West is trying to blame his country for its own mistakes and that the sanctions it is imposing are illegal.

At the same time, the Russian president pledged to solve the problems that arise, and also said that the West is cheating its people.

According to a Reuters report, Vladimir Putin said that Russia is fulfilling its obligations in the energy sector and "pointed" to the US as being responsible for the price hike, also referring to the blockade of Russian oil from the country.

The Russian president made the remarks while speaking on state television, threatening the West that if it continues to impose sanctions on Russia, prices will rise globally.

Russia's Minister of Rural Development, Dmitry Patrushev, spoke at a government conference and said the country is safe in terms of food and that Moscow will continue to meet its export obligations for global agricultural markets.

Meanwhile, Russia's Finance Ministry said it has taken measures to curb capital outflow and will work with the Russian central bank to ensure the stability of the financial system. The priority, the ministry said, is to stabilize the financial system.

A few days earlier, US President Joe Biden had announced a US embargo on Russian oil, while Britain and the EU unveiled their plan to phase out Russia for their needs.

This follows calls by Ukraine's president, Volodymyr Zelensky, for a blockade on imports of Russian goods as part of increasing sanctions imposed on Russia since its invasion of Ukrainian territory.
