Putin loses a weapon Kadyrov withdraws from the war in Ukraine The 45-year-old Chechen leader claimed that "his time has come"

The Chechen leader announced his withdrawal from the war in Ukraine, Ramzan Kadyrov.

As the 45-year-old Kadyrov said, "his time has come", adding that he deserves "an indefinite break".

"I realized that I have been sitting in this position for a long time. I think my time has come," Kadyrov says in the video posted on social media, though it remains unknown whether he will do so and what his next steps will be.

❗️Don-Don Kadyrov said he is old and about to leave

We have a proverb among Caucasians, Chechens. No matter how respected, long-awaited a guest is, if he leaves on time, then it is even more pleasant. I think that my time has also come. Until they kicked me out, said Kadyrov. pic.twitter.com/DT842FHKKA

According to international media, Ramzan Kadyrov may want to put pressure on the Kremlin, knowing the power he has gained since the start of the conflict in Ukraine.

According to Riddle Russia editorial director Anton Barbashin, Kadyrov's departure would be "against the general atmosphere in Russia right now. The message of the whole system is 'stay put' because of the war in Ukraine."

"If it is true and indeed Kadyrov is leaving, and voluntarily, it would be something that literally no one expected," Barbashin noted.

It is worth noting that the Chechen leader has a close relationship with Russian President Vladimir Putin, constantly scheduling meetings - with the last one taking place a month ago in Sochi.

Given this, international analysts believe that if Kadyrov leaves, this will not come as a surprise to the Russian president, who may have been aware of the situation.
