Russian President Vladimir Putin[/B] announced that a test launch of the Tsirkon (Tsirkon) supersonic missile took place in the early morning hours today.

"Tonight at night, actually towards morning, a test launch of the Tsirkon supersonic missile was carried out, it is our own state-of-the-art missile, which hits both sea targets and ground targets. The test was carried out successfully, flawlessly," the Russian president said, describing the launch as "a great event and an essential step in upgrading Russia's security and defence capabilities."
