Prison sentences to two persons for drug trafficking in Limassol 32-year-old and 26-year-old in prison The chronicle of the case
Prison sentences of four and four and a half years, were imposed today on 32-year-old and 26-year-old respectively, in connection with a drug trafficking case.
The case had been investigated by the Anti-Narcotics Service - YKAN - in Limassol.

This is a case of supply and possession for the purpose of supply to other persons, a quantity of cannabis weighing close to one kilogram, which was detected and seized following an operation by the YKAN in June, 2021, in Limassol.
The chronicle of the case
According to the facts of the case, on June 23, members of the YKAN, following a tip-off, put under surveillance the 32-year-old, who shortly after 7.00 in the evening, went by car to an area of Limassol, where he had a meeting with the 26-year-old, who had gone to the spot in another car.
In an attempt by members of the police to stop the 26-year-old for control, he was driving his car, collided with an official vehicle and escaped at high speed. His vehicle was later found abandoned, and at the scene, a nylon bag containing approximately one kilogram of cannabis was found inside a bag, and a second bag containing approximately 17 grams of cannabis and a precision scale were found nearby.
The 32-year-old was arrested after the operation, with a court warrant, while the 26-year-old was located and arrested on June 25, also with a court warrant.
With the completion of police examinations by the YKAN's Limassol Provincial Branch, the police proceeded with the immediate registration of the case for trial by the Limassol Permanent Criminal Court.
After the Permanent Court of Cassation found the two defendants guilty of committing the offences under trial, on Thursday morning, it imposed a four and a half year prison sentence on the 26 year old and a four year prison sentence on the 32 year old.
