The President attends an event for Cyprus at EXPO 2020 and a business forum in Dubai Cyprus and the UAE will sign Memoranda of Understanding for cooperation in maritime transport cybersecurity and diplomatic training
The President of the Republic, Nicos Anastasiades, who is in Dubai at the head of a large delegation of Ministers, Deputy Ministers and other officials, will today visit the EXPO 2020 exhibition, where Cyprus has a Pavilion, and will participate in an event to mark National Day of Cyprus, which he will welcome.
Later, a business forum will be held in the presence of the President of the Republic, who will be one of the speakers. The conference entitled "Cyprus: The Gateway to the EU" Ministers and other officials from Cyprus will talk about the Cypriot economy, present Cyprus as a financial centre and as a gateway to the EU, as well as the opportunities for investment in the country, and discuss digitalisation and innovation. There will also be a discussion with foreign investors.
In addition, Cyprus and the UAE are scheduled to sign MoUs on cooperation in maritime transport, cybersecurity and diplomatic training.
The President of the Republic will be accompanied in Dubai by the Ministers of Finance, Energy, Defence, Agriculture and Transport, the Deputy Ministers of Tourism, Shipping, Research, the Deputy Minister to the President and the Deputy Government Spokesperson. In addition to government officials, Cypriot business leaders are also in Dubai.
The EXPO 2020 exhibition, themed "Connecting Minds, Creating the Future", aims to serve as a global platform for agreements and international cooperation, and is expected to attract some 25 million visitors, with participants from 192 countries.

Visitors to the Cyprus pavilion are welcomed by a hologram of the goddess Aphrodite, taking them on a journey through the island's history. Special emphasis has been placed on enriching the visitor's experience through various senses and digital multimedia, making the most of the possibilities offered by technology.
Each of the six chambers in the space contains audiovisual productions and digital holograms of exhibits related to each theme, created exclusively for EXPO2020 purposes, while special sensors will fill the space with local scents such as jasmine, oregano, etc., transporting the visitor to the island.
